Digital Media I serves as an introductory courses to the main areas of media production, including photography, audio engineering, and video production. The course is broken into three subsections (the three former medias listed). Each section covers the basic principles and techniques to be able to build a foundation to implement one's own creativity. The course begins with photography, in which students learn the controls and functionalities of different camera types, various photography principles, and a basic overview of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. The course continues with audio engineering, where students are exposed to various audio-related careers (such as music producer and folly artist) and are given the opportunity to work with GarageBand. The course concludes with a video production unit, in which students learn the basic camera movements and shot types, Adobe Premiere Pro, as well as the three stages of video development: preproduction, production, and post production.
