Music Video IntroductionThis project is an extension, and final, for the video production unit. We were tasked with choosing a school appropriate song, and then filming a video to accompany the music. This video could be a lip-syncing video, a story that fits with the lyrics, or a thematically-similar video. The video should then be edited in Adobe Premiere to add effects, transitions, etc.
Our video had to fulfill a certain list of requirements:

Music Video ReflectionMy partner and I knew that we wanted to do a story-focused approach. We began searching for descriptive and emotional songs through which we could get creative with our music video's plot. We eventually decided on Adele's "Hello," a song centered around a woman's desire to reconnect with a past lover.
We wanted to go comedic, so we continued with the song's original plot, but adapted it into a woman's longing for her favorite candy bar: a Milky Way. Filming this was significantly more fun for me than the camera shots and movements. I enjoyed filming more comedic and dramatic clips. The editing requirements encouraged me to explore more of Premiere Pro's collection of editing tools, especially the keyframe animations! I wouldn't say I'm going to actively pursue videography as a career, but this project definitely showed me the fun side of preproduction, production, and especially postproduction. |
